Mr President should really use his powers to good use now.
PM Lee should have included this point in his rally speech. A major one indeed.
The teachers should really make their presence be known to their students. After all, they should do what they do best - teach.
JOAKIM GOMEZ should be out of Singapore Idol and be made known to the public (DUH!as if they don’t know!) that he can’t actually sing for nuts! Puh-leessee!!! He’s a nuisance to my ears, a sore to my eyes.. and everything else but sugar and spice!
And oh! He actually knocked Matilda, Rahimah, Gayle, and the list goes on, OUT! How cruel of him to do so! Hang on there.. I think I got the wrong target here. It’s not his fault, entirely (keyword here: entirely). It’s his fans. Blind(ed) fans who scream at the top of their lungs week in week out for a dancing Energiz(er)ed bunny-in-a-human-body.
Hold on a sec… Aren’t they the same ones who say “I LOVE YOU (enter Idol name here)!!!” to that certain Singapore Idol last season? And that certain Superstar Idol and one of the bands in Superband a few weeks ago?
It’s the same fans, I can assure you that. Those who doesn’t have the word ‘loyalty’ or even ‘good singing’ in their dictionary. All they care for… is looks. Something as shallow as that. Now here’s where the teachers come in handy. Even if they couldn’t explain the meaning of ‘looks are superficial’, the very least that they can contribute to the society is to tell their students that Singapore Idol is a singing competition. Period.
Ever seen a typical Joakim fan? What does she say? “Oh he’s soooooo cuuuteee!! Don’t you think so?” Oh yes I do. I certainly do… *smirks*
It’s really to my surrprise today that the judges have added their voices to this get-Joakim-out campaign. Florence was commenting that ‘it’s time he bows out of the competition gracefully’. Dick was his usual self - “Your singing is really bad”. But I love Ken Lim’s one!!! He was like…
“Audience, can I have a few seconds of silence please? Okay, I think that is better than your singing, Joakim.”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! OUCH it certainly is but I think he’s had enough of this kinda shitty performance and the fact that he’s still in the competition. Rock on, Ken… We need more people like you unlike that certain ‘Ja’dge who loathes Joakim so much. She thinks she can get into the good books of Joakim’s fans.
What she didn’t realise is Joakim gets the votes, not her. But still I hope when Joakim gets kicked out (literally please) she gets the boot too (another request for a literal action here).
Enough of that poor guy. He’s only 18 yet he has to go through all these controversy despite being at such a young, tender age. But as the saying goes, ‘You bear the consequences of your own actions’. Or does ‘The truth hurts’ applies itself stronger here?
Luckily, and yes I’m really thankful for this, Hady Mirza came on stage. The fact that he’s the last performer leaves sweet memories and erase the bitter pill that I have to swallow earlier.I’m gonna sound like a girl from here, so be warned. His first song, Lagenda by Sheila Majid, totally blew my mind off! His stage presence is simply superb! I was glued to my TV the moment Gurmit introduced him to stage.

He’s da real thang yo!
And.. and.. and.. I teared when I saw him tearing after his performance. I TEARED CAN? His mum was already smelling her hubby’s armpit when the camera caught her. I can definitely feel him despite the TV being the third party. All the emotions that run through the song… WOW.
He’s good… that’s for sure. The best amongst the contestants. Perhaps even a notch higher than Taufik Batisah (And he doesn’t deserve to take over Taufik as 7-11’s posterboy, that’s another certainty).
Okay, okay.. so much for my emotional side. I’m human after all. Aren’t you?
The results show will be tomorrow and the sad thing is, I wouldn’t be able to catch it. I just hope I won’t be feeling even more sad later that night.
That bunny better be out or else I’ll call the SPCA to take him away.
