I just got back from watching the Brazil Olympic Team vs Singapore Selection and I got one thing to say about it - JUST BRING THE MALAYSIANS THE NEXT TIME ROUND! The stands weren’t really filled and Kallang Roar was sorely missed.
But the mood was cheery though
The Samba Boys weren’t really serious about this match. In fact, our own Sambal Boys fared decently well to cope with them. Pretty happy to see the decline in long balls being pumped to Indra Shahdan for him to run for it.
I didn’t buy any tickets though due to my lack of trust in the FAS who has a (bad) habit of dropping tickets’ prices at the very last minute ’cause of the lack of support. But I sure am grateful to be one of the ticketing boys at the stadium entrances!
There I was able to see the stark contrasts between the locals and foreigners. The rushed vs the patient; thank you with a smile vs a straight face right into the stadium; “Cheers mate!” vs “Cannot say excuse me is it?”
As bottled water wasn’t allowed, there was a mini water parade each time fans were stopped by organizers to finish up their drinks before they go in. Quite a funny sight for a lame reason. Percussion instruments weren’t really allowed actually but what’s Brazilians without their samba beats man!?
And good things really do come in a bundle, don’t they? The Latinas, the chick who put her ticket in between her assets, the cute little girl who kept chanting “Ole! Ole! Ole! Brasil! Brasil!”
Please let this be the last game for the National Stadium. Frankly speaking, I’m tired of the FAS saying the repetitive “this is the last game” every time they are in a press conference.
Last game, last game… bila mau game siak?
