For once, and I think for the record too, I’ll be having more than 5 pictures in one entry. Not quite a feat for some serious bloggers but this entry will be my milestone! So bear with the loading time aite?
This was still on Thursday when the OOPS! magazine was to be launched. We had to carry the whole load down and that includes 1000-odd magazines which weighs an elephant. Those NUM bags are so deceiving. I laughed my heads off when I saw what’s in it. Nice move to attract people though. Heh!

This has got to be one of my favourite photos taken on that day.
It is shot by an DSLR, which explains its nice-ness (I’m lazy to describe the technical stuff.) Oh man.. it’s these kinda photos that makes me wanna own a DSLR of my own. But I guess my money is better put for other important stuff. At least for now.
Timo spent a freaking $2,600 up till now on his DLSR! How can I cough out that humongous amount!
Moving on to the next day, the actual launch day@ZOUK, Babe and I were supposed to reach the club by 12pm but alas we weren’t needed there at such an early timing. So Trung Ngyuen it was to cool ourselves from the sweltering heat outside. Yes it’s a supposedly a Vietnamese cafe but of all authentic things, their Iced Lemon Tea is a must-try.
I was so tired that I dozed off on the couch. Truthfully, I haven’t recovered from the fatigue gained in the Poly 50 run just 2 days back. Plus all the lactic acid still swirling in my thigh muscles.

And a few hours later, we stepped into ZOUK. My virgin visit there and I thought I wouldn’t wanna compare it to MOS till the end of the night. Funny thing is, we took a train to Tiong Bahru and didn’t know how to get to ZOUK either by bus or legs.
So we took a cab and eventually the fare was just $3.40. Now that’s $1 worth of ride. I find it amusingly puzzled that the cab driver actually took us and didn’t even question why we going to ZOUK at such an early time! He must be thinking, “Haiyah.. kids nowadays. So kiasu….”

See the common denominator for both pictures? Tch tch tch.
Rehearsals were ongoing and there was nothing to do for the few of us who were indirectly involved! Seriously, the waiting time was a killer. Somehow the clock was inching its way to 7.30pm, where the place is officially open to SP students.
We went exploring ZOUK and its premises. Phuture was closed, Velvet was guarded. Damn! It’s so mundane in there that we went out of the club and to the nearby neighbourhood.
I was wondering if it was nice to have an apartment there. ZOUK’s nearby, Tiong Bahru Central is not as ulu as what I thought it was and Great World City is just a street away. That means town is chucked at some corner, somewhere. But on the downside, it was a damn old estate. Not upgraded or renovated. And just that overwrites every other benefit.

The clock somehow ticked faster now and I was expecting a throng of crowd rushing in like overflowing water. Meanwhile snaps of Kimmy and Zhao Jie, with the latter identifying himself as my best friend for the night! I still don’t get it why but I think he was high.

AND after much anticipation… it was only the fashion show that was the main attraction of the night. Maybe only ’cause of familiar faces. Sad leh! From the second level, this was the only decent picture shoot-able.

In a nutshell: the crowd was so-so; I still can’t believe it they play spelling bee in a club; the music was literally music with little remix.
On the rarity of a club, there was free flow of drinks. Coke, Spite and Mountain Dew that is. Well, I’m not complaining since I don’t drink. Save for a few spontaneous faces in the crowd, I think the event would be a rather mundane one. People are actually just standing along the isles making conversations of their own!

But nevertheless, credit to the team who organised this whole event. They worked their socks off, went through major glitches and yet the party still went on. Now THAT, I was impressed.
The whole party ended at 10pm but I decided not to stay to club even though it’s a free entry on a Saturday night. I guess not all good things comes for free in life, eh?

After a major reshuffle of plans here and there with Babe, we ended up eating dinner at Tiong Bahru Plaza where I realised that indeed it was a good decision not to continue clubbing after all. Anyway, I think after that night I’ll prefer Smoove@MOS. Hahaha!
I also realise something which totally shocked the hell outta me. Something which made me think twice about things. Make that three. In fact I am still thinking about it right now.
As said earlier, never judge a book by its cover.
Last Saturday came and went by too fast. Way too fast. For all the weeks of researching, planning, Photoshopping and sleeping at 3am (frequently) with my computer and lights on, everything was gone in just 30 minutes? The presentation, the Q&A and out of the door we go. By the way doesn’t one of the clients look like Ms Olivia, our lecturer for IDEAS?
ICM was a killer as much as it was an eye-opener for me.
I have never been scolded by mum for sleeping almost every night with everything in my room switched on. I swear I intended to go for a nap but eventually it became a sleep.
I have never felt so much fatigue with all those trips to the West side for meetings, if not school.
I have never been so busy in a period of time ironically called a ‘term break’.
If I had a chance to go through hell once more, I’d make sure that it won’t be as scorching as I had experienced. But in reality, bygones will always be bygones. So I shall build a better future for myself and the people around me.

Hah! For once I had the chance, and time, to go out with Babe. Finally, my mind was free of worries and qualms; my shoulders were not weighed down by any burden. I suddenly treasure her so much! I guess I miss having her by my side. Oh man, somehow these absences just made me think about NS. Shucks.
But of course I had a busy Saturday. After my group’s pitch for ICM, we all went to Swensen’s to celebrate Wantong’s birthday. Somehow I prefer looking at their dessert menu rather than their main course’s one. And true enough, after having their fish and chips, I still prefer looking at their dessert menu.
After which I had to go back to SP for duty in the Open House. I was thinking, “Who in the right state of mind would come for this stupid thing?” And I got the answer to my question immediately when I saw the crowd thronging in every inch of space available.
I met quite a few characters that day. Some nice and understanding. Others patient and polite. But of course there will be black sheeps who will test your character to your limit. No surprise if it comes from a typical Singaporean parent who just wants the best for himself (and his children) and just wouldn’t spare a thought for others. He even criticized SP for being inefficient and ME for being unjust and disorganised.
Luckily, and surprisingly, my short fuse wasn’t activated. In the midst of the battering storm, I somehow manage to keep my cool and smile to his angsty words. But of course my heart was shouting, “Just fuck off lah uncle! Talk as if you’re some big shot! Damn you fucker!”
Sunday was the best day of life after so many torturous weeks! I slept for 10 full hours! I still felt a bit lethargic yet fresher than before. The find of the day was the food section at Suntec City which I discovered with Haikal. The queue at the Donut Factory there was waaaaaaaay shorter and you can even dine in there, complete with a wider range of products!
But the find, in the find of the day, was this:

I think it’s tasty and affordable, at $2.50, for a hotdog. And you won’t find yourself running out of the dog when you reach the end of your bread.
One regret though - I didn’t put enough mustard.
Anyone with better recommendation for hotdogs?
By the way,

No more SPUNK, now OOPS!
No more St. James, now ZOUK.
No more Saturday night, now Friday.
Frankly speaking SP, this is 2 thumbs down for you. I can have a post ranting all about you but I chose not to. Just to point out something - your MAIN target audience are youths, students, if I must say, aged between 14-21.
I’m just saddened that in this new-age era, old-age mentality still exists.

Babe, I just want you to know this…
You are stronger than who you think you are,
better than what you think you have always been.
Never give up till the final whistle blows.
Thanks Mum for the quilt. I thought it was a Playstation but I guess a quilt will come in handy for cold nights. That’s like so not this season lah. I really thought it was a Playstation. Really.
Thanks to my Sis who folded stars and put ‘em into this small bottle for me. The thing is she finds it difficult to press the stars to make it 3D so she left it as it is - flat stars. HAHAHAH! So cute lah!
Thanks loads my classmates for the lovely card. Everyone seem to smell the card after reading Devon’s comment. Trust me, I mean EVERYONE.
Thanks CliqueMedia for the strawberry white chocolate (from Donut Factory) cum birthday cake. Queuing near to 3 hours on a public holiday is no easy feat eh? And the tee from Pull and Bear is so adorable! No doubt it just wanna make me join the Donut Factory queue, in that tee no less.
Thanks Babe for surprising me. You’re such an ass to trick me into giving me a ‘cheap’ present only to give me a more ‘expensive’ one afterwards. The Man Utd’s latest magazine, complete with my face edited and pasted over Cristiano Ronaldo’s one; the nice chocolate-and-cheese brownie treat at PitchBlack; dinner at Samar, with great company comes a great time (sorry Spiderman for the breach of copyright) and of course… the ZARA tee.

You also can take Event Management lah babe!I still remember the moment where one of the staff came with a small birthday cake right after I set my butt down to rest from the visit to the loo. My gosh, that was really… unexpected?
Thanks my friends from SPAC2GO for that… tissue holder with a kinky twist. It’s this brown guy with black hair and pink nipples (pretty much like me except for the nipples part), and an underwear which served a natural purpose for all guys - to cover their dicks. Crude I know. The truth I know too.
The doll even has pubic hair leh! Wah piang eh! And to stock up the tissues, you have to stick your hand up his ass and take tissues out of his mouth. FYI it is still inside my bag. But it’ll come in handy soon. Heh.
Thanks to everyone who wished me the best for my birthday through SMS, Friendster or just a verbal one.
