I went to Republic Polytechnic the other day, “by invitation” from a friend of mine, and I was blown away. I still remembered the last time I was there for Poly Forum, the school looked like crap. Dust everywhere, fake walls being put up, and the water feature beside this particular canteen was still under construction.

But stepping into RP (again) the other day, I was taken back by its design and facilities. It’s a school but not a school. I was so suaku that I looked like a freshie even though I’ve gotten my own diploma.

I could really imagine myself chilling out at some corner of the school perhaps every other day. Plus laptops are such a necessity nowadays so company doesn’t really need to come in the form of friends. Of course human interaction is better especially in RP ’cause the chicks there are like da bomb yo!

RP students are lucky ’cause RP is the latest poly to be built so of course the look and feel are of the 21st century. I still recall the flak that they receive being the baby of all polytechnics, the credibility of their certs and that Problem-based Learning (PBL) concept that they have.

I’m still not a fan of PBL though and perhaps being with my classmates for 3 whole years has made me not a fan of changing classes every semester too. And a fixed 9am-4.30pm timetable is like a trial for office-hours timing gone bad.

Daaaaaaamn I wanna be a student again.
