The Dutch national team…

So much for dismantling World champions Italy, so much for outclassing European powerhouse France, so much for playing Total Football in that orange kit.

But against the disciplined and hardworking Russians who so obviously did their homework, there was no zest, no fizz and no spark from the Oranjes. A sleeping giant Holland will always be… till they prove otherwise.

An underdog winner yet again for the Euros this time anyone? Let’s say… Russia or Turkey? Or maybe it’ll be one of the 2 European giants.

I’m done with putting my odds with a certain team. Since Holland got dumped, let me just enjoy the wonderful surprises springing here and there.
