MDA didn’t block Youporn and Redtube!

They just wanna have it all to their own so that the buffering will be super-duper fast and not be hogged by apparently (surprise surprise!) many other Singaporeans! What MaDonnA (MDA) did confuses me through and through. What good will blocking these 2 sites do to our fellow countrymen and women?

Not that we rely heavily on porn sites but let’s face it - they do contribute to a certain percentage of all the babies born since the Internet was introduced. We don’t learn what masturbation is from our PETS textbook. We don’t stop at ‘A vagina is the muscular canal extending from the cervix to the outside of the body’ from our Biology classes. Neither do we learn sex positions from the graphic illustrations in magazines.

I got to know the phrase ‘fuck you’ can be both arousing and angsty at different timings from my surroundings. You can blame thank the Ah Beng in my neighbourhood for introducing me the Hokkien version of the human anatomy too.

I thought I’d learn a lot in school. After all, it’s a place where you learn and gain useful insights to new things. While I did learn to speak more affluently and use the calculator once I can’t count with my fingers, I never really did get the answer to why my dick was growing at such at alarming rate. Or why some girls’ breasts are larger than others.

Thankfully there was sex education though I was a bit disappointed there wasn’t any grades given for it. So I learnt that sex was just the boy leaning towards the girl and they’ll both disappear from the scene before the screen goes black. Then came the biggest spoiler of all when a guy in his 30s will appear and starts to nag and nag and nag.

With all these restrictions, it’s no surprise that Singaporeans doesn’t even replace themselves. People are getting married later and become very career-minded now yadayadayada you know the script.

Maybe the gahmen is encouraging us to read more by making us resort to Maxims and FHMs. Staring at the computer screen for too long is bad for the eyesight too, you know that?

Indonesia, a Muslim country by name and population, banned YouTube but I read that Youporn and Redtube are still at large. I haven’t heard much from Malaysia though. Singapore, for all that I’ve seen, is a much more developed than our neighbours but perhaps the same cannot be said with our mind(set).

However it did look suspiciously a coincidence that MDA started removing those 2 sites after this list was hotly talked about in forums.

Why I don’t get the rationale that MDA blocked those sites is that there are many other similar ones that are perhaps worse off in nature due to the fact that they contain local content. I’ve seen it myself and yes, what you see in those overseas porn sites are real and occurring right here on our homeland. Fucked, videoed, uploaded, watched.

So MDA, thanks for closing one door ’cause that means we all have another one opened for us somewhere out there in this World Wide Web. After all, we have to Stand Up for Singapore right?
