I was clearing up some old stuff in my room just now and ended up with a big plastic bag ready to be thrown into the rubbish chute. But amongst these rubbish I found evidences that proved I was once a kid who has had his kental (childish) moments.

Have you had those family-tree-thingy going on in school? John would be the Daddy, Patricia was Mummy, Krishna became the eldest brother, Andrew the second one and Eunice was the youngest child. Then there was Joseph as the god-brother and many other more people as god-siblings.

Usually these things happen when you are in secondary school eh? Well I didn’t have those but I did witness a few family trees sprucing up every now and then. Some withered pretty soon too. Looking back, it was kinda cute how we tighten bonds amongst ourselves.

I did have god-sisters though, God knows why! But I guess it’s equivalent to having a best friend. I’d tell them how bad my day went by, how anal the Maths teacher was and how I found that girl in Modern Dance kinda hot. We’d do homework together sometimes but it ended up being a bitching session most of the time.

Platonic is the keyword here most of the time. Maybe we could have had a teeny-weeny bit of feeling for each other but it’s just that no one dared to admit. Then again, deep down we knew that we’d never cross the line.

But as so-called siblings, we would have our fair share of silly fights too. But things were ay-okay pretty fast and soon we found ourselves promising each other that we’d never lose contact in the future.

Haha! Fast forward to 2008, I find myself laughing at those letters that we passed amongst ourselves. Look at where we all stand now - everyone is taking a different route in life.

So down the rubbish chute the letters went and what’s left behind are just the memories…

… I just prefer it to be that way.
