Vietnam Idol gets my vote!

Vietnam Idol, Phuong Vy, is so freaking hot!!!

She looks like a girl-next-door, her features stands out as much as her figure and confidence on stage came so naturally for her.

Don’t blame me for saying this. I watched Asian Idol for the first time today on Channel 5 and I can’t help it but to have my eyes glued to ~~her~~ the TV! I didn’t really watch the ‘live’ telecast of Asian Idol ’cause I had better things to do with my PC.

But today, I was kinda forced to watch it ’cause my family members, cousins and were all over at my aunt’s place for a mini Hari Raya Haji gathering. And when I reached there the TV was already on the Idol show. Bo pian lor.

I never knew there was so much to discuss over Asian Idol, as I found out today. I look like Taufik Batisah, my cousin looks like Hady Mirza (or vice versa, whichever you feel does more justice); the Ken Lim - Paul Moss catfights; Jaclyn Victor’s singing like she’s making teh tarik with her microphone.

And for all these, I thank you MediaCorp for showing a decent re-run and not another Titanic or Jurassic Park which has filled up almost every other year of my life.

I was thinking why Vietnam lost. Perhaps they don’t have such a crazy SMS community as Singapore. Or a population as big as Indonesia.

But never mind Phuong Vy, you can participate in any beauty pageants out there. For that I’d rather vote you as the winner than any of the other Idols.

And I did a little bit of research and found out that she’s just 20 this year! Okay what… one year older than me only!

What’s up with me, my eyes and pretty girls nowadays man…

lol, lu jgn gatal ah. itu lu punya matair nanti sepak lu baru tahu. HAHAHA.

and tell me about it, i really dont understand why Hady won. the moment his name was announced, i was like shouting in my own living room “What a joke!” and do you realise the irony? Hady sang his song as the Asian Idol, and the song belongs to Taufik. HAHA. i’d prefer Taufik over Hady, anytime, anywhere.

so technically Taufik won the Asian Idol eh? hehehe Taufik’s new album rocks yo! go listen! and don’t worry, I screamed “WHAT THE HELL!” when Hady’s name was mentioned. Except that I didn’t say the last 2 words ’cause my mom’s around hahahaha!

He won because Indonesia and Malaysia obviously voted Singapore’s Hady as their second country.

It was revealed that there was an even spread of voters from every country voting for their own; it was the second country votes that counted. Indonesia and Malaysia won’t vote for each other because Singapore has the cute malay boy. So Indon voters voted Indonesia and Singapore, Msia voted Msia and Singapore.

Makes sense?

And Phuong Vy sang a very weird and boring song.

yeah I knew that logic.. but I’d rather call it a flaw in the voting system. But by the looks of it, Hady won by luck. hahah! Those Indonesians and Malaysians must be thinking “Haiyah, nvm lah. My first choice didn’t win, second choice also can lah!”

You should check out her other songs on YouTube. She can “pull her voice” nicely unlike Jaclyn. I don’t know what’s with her and her mic. You’re supposed to control your voice, not your mic. Hmmm?

Usually those divas do the mike pulling thing. Besides, Jaclyn knows her voice is “nyaring”. If she wants to go the high notes and loud, she cant do it into the mike. Cos it’ll be very unpleasant.

I think I’ve seen singers like Whitney Houston and Christina Aguilera do the mike thing.

But Phuong Vy is cute la, though she looks better with make up. Very admirable stage presence. Oh and can really sing too.

yeah I agree on the part that her voice is “nyaring”. she goes flat on slow songs as well. I only like her for the fact that she can “tarik her suara” so well.

sheesh, Melayulish is so weird. Ditto about Phuong Vy! She’s your age.. and for the first time I’d say “Okay lah, you’re not that old lah”
