Okay Green Day, let’s put your ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends’ on the loop…

The jetty over at Merang after a 9 hour bus ride, 2 pit stops and a Ramly burger that ironically doesn’t taste that well in its country of origin.

Introducing the family portrait of *drumrolls*…

WOLFPACK!

The 45-min boat ride turned out to be a bore with many heads nodding off except for those who were there for the Leadership Training Camp (LTC). They were excited, they were hyper. But I thought my quick nap was quite revitalizing.

And Redang Island finally came to shore, or rather we did. It was a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of Singapore life. Everything there seems so nice… until I realise that it was hard not to think about my misses back home.

But the views of the Redang beach somehow managed to distracted me quite a bit…

The first day was at a walking pace. Actually everything was at a walking pace except when we were playing those mini-challenges. There was the usual ice-breaker and loads of free time to be used to explore the whole resort.

Truthfully speaking, I didn’t mind not exploring. Just sitting at one spot and admire the lovely beach will do just fine for me.

The mini-challenges won us the ‘Never-say-die’ title and… few tones darker as well. But we still can’t compare with the locals there. They are sun-kissed almost everyday till I don’t know whether how to describe their skin colour!

Egg drop!

Unique idea, nice logic, tried and tested… but alas the shell gave way. Must be the launcher lah aka Uncle David!

Build-a-raft

LTC Journey

Sandcastle!

Life was a breeze, literally. After a stuffing ourselves with plates and plates of food served buffet style, we will immediately be off to either run here and there or build something. And at night, we’ll be seeing stars once more with a laser that points straight to the light. Now where’s that teapot and the inverted question mark that represents Sagittarius and Capricorn eh?

On the last day, there was snorkelling to see Nemo and friends. Add in some corals too - dead or alive.

And of course, Talentime at the Laguna Redang’s KTV/Disco where the songs spun by the resident DJ can make you dance fast-slow-fast-slow-stoned. Stoned ’cause you don’t know whether it is songs or noise coming out of the speakers.

Finally, the day has come for us to board the Superstar Virgo!

I’ve got so many things to say onboard the cruise but let’s just pen down the most important one:

THE VIEW WAS SO FREAKING AWESOME YO!!!

Most of the time, I find myself getting out to see the horizon and letting the wind blow across my face. I’ll never get to experience that onboard the Ducktour or something!

Perhaps the most important thing I learnt is that leaders are humans after all. Even though they are expected to lead, they are not flawless. Even if people look up to them, they are not free from wrongdoings.

Maybe the second most important thing that I learn is to always treasure what you have. Always.

Including you.

Oh man, I’ve never been away for so long. 2 camps back-to-back takes up so much time already. Luckily there was a mini get-together. :)

Oh ya how can I forget the things that make Wolfpack so fun and wacky…

LTC Redang 2007 - Wolfpack

If you guys have the chance, and money, get your asses to Redang. You’ll love it there! Except in monsoon seasons lah.

That’s about it for LTC Redang 2007! Wolfpacker, out!

ps: Thanks Mas and Peiying for the lovely pictures! Every single one of them carries memories.
